The issue of ESG (environmental, social, and governance) impacts on every single division at SES Spar European Shopping Centers. This is why, with effect from 1 January 2024, Austria’s market-leading operator of shopping malls has further strengthened its commitment in this area, setting up the Corporate Sustainability unit to this end. Andreas Mittendorfer has taken on this role and will be reporting directly to the CEO, Christoph Andexlinger. His previous position as Head of Facility Management will be filled by his successor Tobias Reiter, who has been on the FM team at SES since 2007.

Andreas Mittendorfer (53) – Head of Corporate Sustainability
A native of Upper Austria, he studied facility management at Vienna Technical University (TU Wien) and has forged a career in the real property industry over the past 20 years. After several years working for a non-profit social housing developer, he moved to SES in 2011 where he held the position of Head of Facility Management for the last 10 years. Andreas Mittendorfer has already accumulated considerable experience in ESG over the years working in his previous role. In his new position as Head of Corporate Sustainability, he will take the lead in vigorously pursuing all the issues that are relevant for the company to successfully align itself with EU ESG and classification criteria.

Tobias Reiter (42) – Head of Facility Management
After studying facility management at Kufstein University of Applied Sciences, Tobias Reiter was recruited to INTERSPAR property management in 2006 as a member of the technical staff. In 2007 he made a sideways move within the SPAR Group and joined SES in the facility management department, where he initially worked in a technical role but subsequently switched to FM project management. In 2022 he took over as department head for Shopping Center Facility Management with responsibility for organisation and infrastructure in facility management. In assuming overall management of the department, Tobias Reiter as Head of Facility Management at SES now has responsibility with his team of experts for steering FM on a sustainable course when it comes to technical issues, infrastructure and organisation. A principal focus will be on ensuring operational reliability and minimising operating expenses.
