Sustainability is a core component of the DNA of SES Spar European Shopping Centres, and this has been officially confirmed once again with the latest certification: the SES shopping centers IPERCITY and LE BRENTELLE in Padua have been awarded the internationally recognized BREEAM In-Use certification with a Very Good rating.

This means that both locations meet the highest standards of energy efficiency, interior climate, ecology and environmental sustainability – positioning them as forerunners in the region.

Christoph Andexlinger, CEO of SES Spar European Shopping Centers:
“In a family you look out for your children’s future opportunities. Therefore, as a family-owned company, this long-term focus is an essential part of SES’s DNA. We make our daily decisions with our grandchildren’s future in mind. The successes we have achieved to date and the present BREEAM In-Use certification strengthen our resolve to consistently follow this future-oriented path, even though it is not always easy. For us, sustainability extends far beyond our ecological footprint. I would like to thank the team at SES Italy for their daily commitment where sustainability is concerned.”

The certification underlines the aspiration of IPERCITY and LE BRENTELLE to create living spaces that assume responsibility – for today and tomorrow. It is an important milestone for the entire Padua region, as its two leading shopping centers set new standards for sustainability – in both their operation and their management.

A certificate that creates trust
BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) In-Use is one of the world’s leading assessment systems for existing real estate. Recognized in over 80 countries, it analyzes a variety of different aspects, including energy consumption, accessibility by public transportation, water management and visit quality. The assessment applies to the general areas – the spaces used by millions of people every year.

It is not just customers and employees who enjoy a stable outlook from sustainably managed spaces: for investors in particular, BREEAM In-Use certified properties are a guarantee of efficiency, quality and long-term value growth.
