The approval of the planning permission has paved the way for the large-scale modernization of SILLPARK Innsbruck, to be implemented by fall 2026 while the center operates as normal and without impacting shop opening times. The construction work on the mall began a few days ago, with no restrictions for visitors. SILLPARK, Innsbruck’s first city-center shopping mall, opened in 1990 and will now also gain a completely new health park. The investment of EUR 30 million will make SILLPARK the most modern location in Tyrol for socializing and shopping.

The SILLPARK Innsbruck shopping center is about to undergo an extensive modernization and redesign process. SES Spar European Shopping Centers is investing more than EUR 30 million in the major “SILLPARK 3.0” project, thus making one of the most frequented shopping destinations in Tyrol fit for the coming decades. As well as a comprehensive architectural upgrade, an innovative health park is also being constructed here in cooperation with Vinzenz Gruppe Service.

Christoph Andexlinger, CEO SES Spar European Shopping Centers:
“The motto for the mall redesign is “fresh, bright and friendly”. With this, we want to offer our visitors an inspiring and enjoyable, yet also future-proof shopping experience. At the same time, we are strengthening the position of Innsbruck’s city center.”

Renovation with no restrictions on shopping
The shopping mall will remain open during the whole of the modernization phase, despite the extensive construction works. Thanks to the careful planning and implementation of the construction works, the impact on normal operation will be kept to a minimum.

Markus Siedl, Center Manager SILLPARK
“It goes without saying that the shops at SILLPARK will remain open as usual for our customers during the renovation phase”, emphasizes Center Manager Markus Siedl. “We are delighted to be starting the modernization process now.”

New shopping experience with a modern ambience
With a range of businesses that pull in the crowds, SILLPARK has been a central attraction in Innsbruck for decades. The popular shopping destination is now given a makeover to make it even more appealing: The planned changes capitalize on an open design flooded with light, which will create a pleasantly bright atmosphere. More sources of natural light, generous spaces and a timeless, modern interior architecture will guarantee an inviting spatial ambience.

New Starbucks opened
Along with the modernization process, there are also some additions to the range of shops at SILLPARK: On April 25, Starbucks opened its most modern branch in Innsbruck at the mall.

Focus on sustainability and customer convenience
SILLPARK is the only shopping center in Austria with its own hydropower plant, which covers an impressive 50 percent of the center’s general energy requirements by means of environmentally friendly in-house production. Sustainability is also a central factor during the current modernization. Every aspect of the redesign of SILLPARK takes state-of-the-art environmental standards into account, with a focus on energy-efficient lighting, sustainable materials and a resource-saving construction method.

Healthcare of the future: first health park in an Austrian shopping center to open at SILLPARK in 2026
A flagship project during the redesign is the new health park, which is being realized on the second story of SILLPARK and will cover an area of over 3,000 m². Together with the Vinzenz Gruppe Service as SES’s venture partner, a future-oriented medical care center is being constructed here for the welfare of the community, to accommodate not only general practitioners but also medical specialists, therapists and other health service providers, all under one roof.

Completion in fall 2026
The completion of the adaptation measures at SILLPARK and the opening of the new health park are planned for fall 2026. From then on, SILLPARK will set new standards for combining modern shopping and contemporary healthcare.
