With the new photovoltaic installation on the roof of FISCHAPARK in Wiener Neustadt, SES Spar European Shopping Centers recently put into operation the 14th solar power system on its shopping mall roofs. By doing so, the center operator provided a further strong indication of its climate-friendly energy generation. With 750 modules and a maximum capacity of 340 kWp, the 3,000 m² photovoltaic system at FISCHAPARK has been supplying sustainable self-generated power since mid-April – with up to 28,000 kWh per month at peak times. In total, SES shopping centers in Austria, Slovenia and Italy operate photovoltaic equipment for sustainable power generation on a roof area of 46,000 m2.

The new solar power plant on the roof of FISCHAPARK is a further major step for the center. For many years, the shopping destination in Wiener Neustadt has been showing a consistent commitment to energy efficiency, proactive climate protection and alternative energy sources. As examples, the mall at the center is cooled with ground water, the climate control provides energy efficiency by adjusting to the visitor numbers in the mall, and the lighting is operated by means of economical LED technology.

The range of environment-friendly customer services is supplemented by a total of 14 E-charging stations (with a further expansion planned for 2025), an E-scooter parking lot including a hire system, and connections to the public transport network and local cycle track system. The photovoltaic installation that has now been constructed on the shopping center roof consistently continues the route to sustainability.

Christoph Andexlinger, CEO SES Spar European Shopping Centers:
“With the commissioning of the new photovoltaic installation on the roof of FISCHAPARK we are giving a strong indication of our consistent SES sustainability strategy. SES has been pursuing the strategy of making our center locations climate-fit for many years – through expanding our renewable energy sources, smart building technology and high energy efficiency. FISCHAPARK exemplifies how regional responsibility and sustainable corporate thinking go hand in hand.”
