SES Spar European Shopping Centers GmbH (hereinafter referred to as “SES”) and SPAR Österreichische Warenhandels-AG (hereinafter referred to as “SPAR”) shall bear responsibility for data protection (Article 4(7) of the General Data Protection Regulation or “GDPR”). Our contact details can be found at the end of this policy.
In technical and administrative terms, the responsible parties use processors (Article 4(8) of the GDPR), in particular, IT and back-office service providers, such as SPAR Business Services GmbH. All processors are contractually obliged to treat your data confidentially and to process it only in the context of the provision of services.
PurposeThe personal data that you disclose (title, name, email address, telephone number) will be processed by the responsible individuals for the purpose of sending press information (e.g., press releases, product information, reader service, invitations to press conferences, etc.) in connection with the retail and shopping center sectors as well as topics related to those sectors, such as business, products, careers, employees, sustainability, etc.
Any information that you voluntarily provide will only be processed in order to provide you with targeted information, for example,
- personal salutation in email messages (title, name)
- transmission of content that is specifically relevant to you by means of segmentation, e.g., by business, chronicle, real estate, or product information
You can view, change, add to, or delete the information that you have voluntarily submitted at any time by notifying SES (see contact information below).
In addition, the performance of our press releases is measured via the processing of the number of times press releases are opened (yes/no) (“opening rate”) as well as information regarding the technical deliverability of press releases ("bounces", e.g., undeliverability due to an incorrect email address). Such data is generated by the system.
Legal BasisThe processing of your email address is based on your
consent, pursuant to Article 107 of the Telecommunications Act.
You have the right to
revoke your consent at any time free of charge. However, the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent prior to the revocation shall not be affected by such revocation. You can revoke your consent by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the respective press release or by contacting SES (see contact information below).

After you unsubscribe from receiving press releases, your declaration of consent will continue to be stored by SES (pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit f GDPR). The legitimate interest on the part of SES consists in retaining evidence of your consent.
You provide your data to SES voluntarily, without any legal or contractual obligation. However, the processing of your email address is necessary in order to be able to send press information.
Storage Period / DeletionYour unsubscription from the receipt of press releases shall automatically be entered in the dispatch database. That entry will ensure that you do not continue to receive press releases from the point in time at which you unsubscribe. Your data will be permanently deleted within one month of the date on which you unsubscribe, provided that there are no legal obligations regarding data retention and that the data is not required for the defense or enforcement of legal claims.
Your consent to receive press releases will be stored for a period of 12 months from the date on which you unsubscribe from receiving press releases.
Performance measurement data is stored for a period of one year and is deleted after one year.
Order Data ProcessorIn the context of press information dispatch, SES utilizes WUNDERWERK Online GmbH as an order processor. For technical matters, SES uses the services of SPAR Business Services GmbH.
Legal RemediesYou have a right to information (Art. 15 GPDR), correction (Art. 16 GPDR), deletion (Art. 17 GPDR), restriction (as of 25 May 2018, Art. 18 GPDR), data portability (as of 25 May 2018, Art 20 GPDR), and objection (Art. 21 GPDR). f you believe that the processing of your personal data is in breach of the GDPR, please do not hesitate to inform us of your concerns.
