The "More Than Just Shopping" motto is the theme of this year's SES appearance at the Expo Real international trade fair, which takes place from Monday, 8 October to Wednesday, 10 October 2018 in Munich. As a developer and manager of first-class shopping centers in prime locations, SES will showcase itself via an exhibition booth for the eighth time, and its projects will highlight trends in the development of thriving retail destinations. Whether retailing, urban meeting zones, high-end gastronomy, entertainment, or hotel use: SES is putting its experience in multiple use of real estate to even greater use with regard to its current projects. SES will show-case the district center in Ljubljana-Šiška as well as the multifunctional shopping district in Lienz at Booth 112 in Hall A2. At the trade fair, SES will transform the future of shopping into a tangible experience and will paint a live portrait of the future together with booth visitors and graphic recording professional Christian Ridder. SES operates approximately 30 shopping locations in six countries, either owned or on behalf of investors.

"The future belongs to multifunctional locations. For many years, we have focused on neighborhood developments, the upgrading of city districts, and the best possible fusion with surrounding areas: In 2007, for example, we opened a shopping quarter in Vienna that included offices, leisure facilities, childcare, and services and upgrades the entire area. In Salzburg, we operate a center that features an arts and culture stage, a corporate kindergarten, and restaurants outside the center's opening hours. Life unfolds at our centers. We will continue to attach great importance to creating urban spaces in which people meet, spend their leisure time, eat, shop, work, or go to appointments with the authorities. As a result, we are incorporating our many years of experience in multifunctionality into our current projects in an even stronger way," says Marcus Wild, CEO of SES Spar European Shopping Centers.

Ljubljana-Šiška Shopping Center: Jogging above the Roofs of the City
A new shopping center is being built right in the heart of the Šiška district of the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana. The shopping center in Ljubljana-Šiška will offer approximately 90 shops, restaurants, and service outlets. The gastronomy facilities on the second floor will serve as the highlight. The first floor will feature an outdoor terrace as well as a green area on the roof, which is intended for sports and leisure facilities: The so-called "Activity Roof" will provide sports enthusiasts with a volleyball and basketball court, a fitness course, and a running track. A hilly circuit for pump tracking, the latest trend in sports, is being built on the forecourt of the center. The all-around leisure experience will also be accessible outside of the center's opening hours. Construction work on the center began in the summer of 2017. The total investment in the project amounts to 130 million, with the leasable area amounting to 32,000 m². Completion is scheduled for 2020, and 700 new jobs will be created.

Lienz / East Tyrol Downtown Shopping Quarter with Hotel
In Lienz / East Tyrol, a shopping quarter that includes roughly 10,000 m² of leasable space is being built directly adjacent to the pedestrian zone. Twenty shops, restaurants, and service outlets as well as a hotel with 75 rooms are planned. The preparatory construction work has been completed. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2019.

A Portrait of the Future of Shopping and a Business Brunch
"The industry is changing now more than ever. We deal with new challenges in our day-to-day work and – together with our retailers and business partners – actively address the future," says Marcus Wild, CEO of SES Spar European Shop-ping Centers. This year, with the help of graphic recording specialist Christian Ridder, SES will symbolically visualize the future of shopping at its trade fair booth together with booth visitors and business partners. Beginning at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, 9 October, SES will welcome its visitors to partake in a business brunch at the booth.
